Recent rains have had a positive effect on the rivers within the Kruger National Park. Social Media was flooded with images and videos of the beautiful rains.
As seen in the image above, the Kruger National Park has experienced some really great rainfall. Last week Wednesday they had so much rainfall that the Sable Dam overflowed. The dam is situated approximately 10km from of Phalaborwa Gate. In two days they received over 146.40mm of rain.
One of the commenters compared the blessed sight to when she was in the park one week earlier. She mentioned how dry and empty it looked.
“Looked drier than last year when we were in the Olifants area last week. The South around Lower Sabie however… was luscious green.” – Paula Mans
The Sable Dam is a popular watering hole and a great place to spot Hippo, Lion, Elephant, Wild dog and Hyena. Below is an image that was taken just a few days before the rains and the difference is wonderful to see.
