An 84-year-old man went for makeup lessons to help his wife do her makeup as she has started losing her sight. The video of his efforts has gone viral.
Des and Mona Manahan are from Ireland and their relationship is giving the world real life relationship goals. After Mona began losing her eyesight, Des decided to learned how to apply her makeup by going to classes.
The loving couple have been married for 56 years and their love for one another is stronger than ever. Mona’s sight loss has meant that she was unable to do her own makeup. Des knew this realisation was distressing for her and decided to step up and take lessons to learn how to do her makeup for her.
Des was already doing minor corrections on Mona’s face so when she decided to go and get her face done by a professional for a party, Des took the opportunity to learn a few new tricks. He started out by making sure he was holding the brushes correctly, which he was. The makeup artist talked him through different things and he got a few new tips.
Their story went viral and Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist heard about the couple and invited them to one of his makeup masterclasses. He flew them to London to attend the class.
The couple had no clue what or who a Kardashian was but were very pleased that their story had moved someone so much.
