The NPO is seeking three months of practical assistance for a six-year-old girl and her gogo as they work towards a stable home.

Johannesburg, South Africa (27 October 2026) – A gogo is doing everything she can to give her six-year-old granddaughter a loving, safe home, but the pair now need a helping hand to navigate the next few months.

People4Purpose NPO, working alongside a local Community Policing Forum (CPF), is appealing to the community to support “Gogo L” and her granddaughter, known as “N”, as they face a difficult period.

N is described as a bright, clever and caring little girl whose infectious smile brings warmth to those around her. She is currently in her grandmother’s care, with Gogo L working tirelessly to provide a nurturing environment and prepare her for one of the big milestones ahead: starting primary school next year.

However, the coming three months present significant challenges that could affect the stability they have worked hard to build.

People4Purpose wants to help ensure that N and her grandmother can remain together in a safe and supported environment. To make that possible, the organisation is looking for people who can contribute practical assistance during this period.

The immediate needs include:

Childcare support: R2,500 per month for three months.
Food: A small monthly food hamper.
Clothing: Items suitable for a child aged six to seven.
Toys: Gently used toys that can bring some extra joy to N.

Every contribution, whether financial or in the form of essential items, could help ease some of the pressure on this family and give them greater stability as they look towards the months ahead.

People4Purpose says it cannot do this alone and is asking community members to come together to support a grandmother who is working hard to care for her granddaughter.
