Lessons Mathematics

There is a platform that is teaching Grade 10 Mathematics and Physics in great detail, for free! Literally anyone can access these helpful lessons.

Cape Town-based edtech social enterprise, Paper Video has released a new resource that gives South African students free access to every lesson required in the Grade 10 Mathematics and Physical Sciences curriculum.

Since 2015, Paper Video has partnered with the Actuarial Society Education Trust (ASET) and various corporate sponsors to develop edtech resources that allow students to instantly access a teacher on their phone, tablet or computer for any exam question they’re struggling with.

This is done by embedding video solutions for each question in past exam papers, which students can access on demand when they need help with a particular question.

Over the course of 3 years, Paper Video has made 2,500 exam questions and their accompanying video solutions available for free on its website or app. These free resources represent just over 20% of the full collection of exam questions and videos offered by Paper Video.

Now, with the release of its newest resource – the Grade 10 “Subject Maps” – the edtech enterprise has made every lesson that a student requires for Grade 10 Mathematics and Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) available for free.

“We’re very excited about the release of our new Subject Maps, especially because it has proven possible to do this for free for Grade 10s. This is a big step towards our goal of using technology to bring quality education to all South African students, irrespective of their backgrounds”, explains Paper Video co-founder and Maths teacher, Paul Maree.

“Now every Grade 10 can have access to an extra teacher when they’re struggling with Maths or Science with minimal effort and no cost”
