Julius Patrick Schultz and his family live in Michigan, USA. Music runs through their blood and Julius’s son put on an amazing performance in Chicago

Julius and his wife left South Africa to pursue their dreams and create opportunities for their music loving kids. The choice to head to the USA has proven to be a great one, especially for their “out of this world” talented children.

Their son Justin was recently invited on stage at the City Winery in Chicago to jam out some tunes with the band. Justin joined Kevin Whalum, a popular Jazz vocalist, on stage and was told to lead the band. He was invited to play anything. The nice thing about Jazz is that it is constantly moving so the band could easily follow and improvise according to whatever Justin decided to play.

According to Julius, Justin chose a piece composed by Bob James. Bob James is a Grammy Award Winning jazz keyboardist, arranger, and record producer.

The Schultz family have a passion for Jazz and music in general. Dad Julius is the Minister of Music at Stones Church in Michigan, Justin is a keyboardist and daughter Jamie is incredibly gifted on the drums.

One thing is for sure, Justin will be a name everyone in the Jazz community will be talking about very soon. We are blown away by his talent and his star persona, he is already a pro at such a young age.

Watch his performance below.
