R6,500 in PnP stickers going to charity thanks to people in Johannesburg

The Angel Network shared an exciting post about their Pick n Pay sticker collection campaign. Many organisations have been collecting them for December

The Angel Network has been asking its followers to keep any spare Pick n Pay R5.00 stickers to help them give towards charity. People have been saving them for a good cause but one woman went above and beyond with her collection.

Sharon Lefowitz and Aden Lefowitz drove hundreds of kilometres, all across Johannesburg to collect peoples spare stickers and half-filled cards.

What started out as a project with the hope of collecting a few hundred rands turned into a whopping R6,500 donation to two charities.

“Sharon Lefkowitz you were right! While some of us thought we may be lucky to collect R150 – R300 worth of stickers, you persevered and together with Aden Lefkowitz drove hundreds of kilometres through the suburbs of Jhb collecting stickers!

Tomorrow we will hand over close to R6 500 worth of stickers and gift cards to 2 of our beneficiaries, to Emily Langa of Twilight Outreach and Dominic Shillie from Mshengu Foundation.”

Thank you Sharon for your dogged determination and hard work in collecting and to all who donated, thank you thank you. 62 children and young adults will have full tummies this festive season thanks to you.”

It is amazing how a simple promotion by the store has turned into such an effective way for people to give back to charity. If you have stickers, remember you need to get them to the people collecting prior to the 30th of December as that is the last day to convert the stickers into cash.
