We all need to hear this today; the change starts with us! One woman has an empowering message for South Africans to get the ball rolling.

South Africa – A South African woman by the name of Moira has a beautiful message for South Africans. She wants us all to do more for South Africa because it starts with us!

Take a read below.

“I am a South African. I was born and bred in South Africa, and have been staying here my whole life.

And if there is only one thing I can say to my fellow South Africans, it will be: it all starts with you!

The government can only do so much. In fact, what the government does can only affect your life up to a certain point. Stop waiting for someone to come and rescue you. Stop waiting for someone else to be the first person to start doing the nice thing for you. Start being the person you would like your fellow South Africans to be like. Start acting the change which you would like to see in your fellow South Africans. It starts with you and the small difference you can make in your immediate society. It starts with you helping the old lady across the street. Not you taking a photo of someone else doing the act. Or standing and watching as she gets mugged.

Start proactively finding out more about what the correct way is to act when you see a mugging. Can you make a citizens arrest, and how does that work? What is the correct way to do the correct thing? Stop blinding yourself with what the government is doing or waiting for the government to step in.

Do all the things that you can do to ensure your own safety. Do everything to ensure that you give everyone around you respect. Unconditional love. And start to create the things you dream “should” exist – in the correct way (IE not with using or infringing on anyone else’s freedom)- in the South Africa which you would like to live in. If you are in a position to do so – support someone you know is struggling.

Get involved in your community. Connect.

And please stop standing on the sideline and complain complain complain because nothing in South Africa will change until you do.

The President and the politics do not create South Africa – you do.

So please stop projecting, and start building the South Africa you wish to leave behind. I have full faith that our President is doing everything he can from his side, but if we don’t start using our brains, and start to trust where trust has been earned, then nothing will ever change.”
