The Nelspruit SPCA wished Mathews Moyo a happy birthday using their Facebook page, and hundreds of supporters reached out to wish him too.

Mbombela, South Africa (10 October 2022) – Everyone loves receiving birthday wishes on their big day, but when the Nelspruit SPCA shared their happy birthday wish to Mathews Moyo, they never imagined that hundreds of their supporters would do the same.

Mathews Moyo is the sanity within the team, despite the horrors and hells he pulls animals from. He is a gentleman that works harder than anyone expects him to and always stays much later than he should. He dedicates every waking moment to protecting the animals of Mbombela.

The team shared a beautiful happy birthday message, and before long, over 100 people had done so too. They all want him to know just how special he is to the community.

“Mathews Moyo. Today is his birthday.
He is such a gentle soul with endless love and compassion for animals.
He understands that when we have to go, we have to go, regardless the time of day or night.
He does what needs to be done, even if it is not his job.
His unique sense of humour lightens up our days and makes the most horrible situations bearable.
He is always polite, no matter the situation.
He is one of the few people who understands that if I say something must be done now it actually means yesterday.
We have to beg him to take very necessary leave.
Without him I probably would have been in jail now on numerous counts of assault. Even murder.
I can’t imagine us without him.

Happy Birthday Mathews, from all of us and the thousands of animals you saved from hell.”

You can add your wishes here or donate some pet food at the shelter. The SPCA is currently trying to get their pet food store room restocked so if you want to, you can help them do that by visiting them at 6 Meidlinger street, calling on 013 753 3582 or getting in touch via email on [email protected].
