Over 61,000 Santa Shoeboxes have been pledged towards the annual event so the team are pushing to get those final pledges in before they open the drop-offs.
South Africa (18 October 2022) – Pledges for the 2022 Santa Shoebox Project opened on the 1st of September this year. The team is now prepping for the final pledges so all the loyal shoeboxes can start delivering boxes to children in need.
The Santa Shoebox Project was started in 2006 as a way for people to provide gifts to children who often go without during the festive season. The first roll-out saw just 180 gift boxes distributed to children in need. In 2020, that number crossed the 1 million mark.
The Project, which is now in its 16th year, is an inspiring community initiative that collects uniquely personalised gifts for underprivileged children. Equally, the project is about parents teaching their own children the Joy of Giving.

- Toothbrush
- Bar of soap

- An outfit of clothing
- Educational supplies

- A toy
