Local Bakery Serves Up More Than Just Coffee

Cape Town, South Africa (04 September 2025) – Outside of delighting the city with their signature coffee and playful social media videos, Weirdough Bakery has been busy spreading a little extra love. Recently, the bakery wrapped up a food drive to support local animals, and the results were nothing short of inspiring.

Although the bakery initially aimed to collect 200 pet food cans, the community’s generosity helped gather an impressive 157 cans, all of which were donated to Animal Welfare Helderberg. Clare and the team from the organisation came to collect the contributions, marking a truly special moment.

Beyond rescue, they provide vital mobile clinics, ensuring pets in local communities receive medical care, including vaccinations, deworming, tick and flea treatments, and sterilisation.
