A group of young ballerinas flew the South African flag high at the IDO World Championships in Poland, coming home as the Junior Ballet World Champions.
Warsaw, Poland – The International Dance Organisation (IDO) held its annual World Championship to find the best dancers across multiple disciplines.
A group of young ballerinas from Pretoria set off with the dream of making their country proud, and they did it! Attending the World Ballet and Jazz Championships in Poland, the young ladies earned themselves the top spot for the Junior Ballet Small Group championship.
Michelle Lombaard Nesbitt, a talented dance coach, accompanied the young ladies to Warsaw and was blown away by their efforts.

The IDO consists of over 90 nations, representing more than 500,000 dancers from every continent on the globe. This means that talents from all over the world work hard to earn a podium placement at their respective competitions. It is a proud day that we can once again hold the South African flag high!
