What happens when corporate social investment is driven by purpose instead of obligation? This week on Good Things with Brent Lindeque, the conversation goes straight to the heart of what real impact looks like.

Johannesburg, South Africa (17 December 2025) – When purpose leads the conversation, the impact always feels deeper. This week on Good Things with Brent Lindeque, I had the privilege of chatting to someone who lives and breathes the idea that real change starts with investing in people.

On this week’s podcast, I’m joined by Kapish Singh, Corporate Social Investment Manager at the PPS Foundation, for a conversation that goes beyond strategy and spend. We talk about what meaningful CSI really looks like, why it matters so deeply in South Africa and how kindness and purpose can shape outcomes that last for generations. Kapish shares insight into the work of the PPS Foundation and what it means to be involved in CSI that is intentional, values-driven and focused on long-term impact. We speak about the responsibility that comes with having the ability to help, and how choosing to invest in people, particularly young people, creates a ripple effect that reaches far beyond any single initiative.

Established in 2016, the PPS Foundation was founded with a resolute commitment to advancing key priorities such as quality education, gender equality, decent employment, economic growth and industry innovation, all aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. At the centre of this work is a strong focus on improving access to science, technology, engineering and mathematics, while contributing meaningfully to the sustainable development of South African communities.

“Our primary objective is to enhance access to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) while significantly contributing to the sustainable development of South African communities,” the Foundation explains. This mission is driven by PPS’s core values of mutuality and collective success, with a clear dedication to nurturing the potential of young people and creating positive change that endures.

Throughout our conversation, we keep coming back to purpose, not as a concept, but as something that shows up in action. Purpose in how programmes are designed, how partnerships are formed and how success is measured not only in numbers, but in lives changed.

This episode is a reminder that when purpose and kindness lead the way, progress follows. If you’re looking to be part of something that genuinely invests in South Africa’s future, you can learn more or get involved by visiting https://ppsfoundation.pps.co.za.
