Pierre Jourdan Popsicles

Adult Gin popsicles are here just in time for the Spring season. PJ Pops have launched a sister brand for even more alcohol-based popsicle flavours… Yay!

The company that launched the delightful Pierre Jourdan Pops in 2016 have created a sister brand called Frost Popsicles. The new brand will be able to house many more flavours under its umbrella. The first flavour launch will be a delicious G&T Classic and G&T Berry Infusion.

This is so exciting because Gin is such a refreshing drink in the warmer months. The G&T Classic delivers all the subtle bitterness and juniper-driven notes of a classic gin-and-tonic, while the G&T Berry Infusion incorporates notes of blackberries, strawberries and blueberries to offer a rounded, slightly sweeter G&T experience.

“We wanted to appeal to different palates whilst staying true to what we love about a great G&T. Even in the sweeter G&T Berry Infusion you’ll pick up those understated bitter notes of a great gin.”

“Although it’s a frozen product, we wanted to create an authentic flavour that stays true to the original gin. It’s this approach that makes our PJ Pops™ so popular – the Popsicle retains all the flavours that make the bottled product so appealing.” – Natasha Alomia, Co-Founder of PJ Pops

The new popsicles will be launched in early September.

“It’s impossible to ignore the global dialogue around craft gin, both in South Africa and abroad.” – Jon-Marc De Carvalho, Co-Founder of PJ Pops

While the idea of a Gin popsicle is incredibly exciting, what makes it all even better is the fact that the Gin is sorced locally. The distillery being used is ‘Hope on Hopkins’ in Cape Town.

“We aimed to highlight very particular flavours by using just four botanicals. It’s juniper-driven, with coriander, angelica root and licorice just to round it off.” – Lucy Beard, co-owner of Hope on Hopkins.

“We chose Hope on Hopkins because they are like-minded in their approach to innovation and quality, and we are thrilled with the bespoke gins they have created for the G&T Popsicles.”

“It’s the power of the gin that makes this product come alive. This is also the first time, worldwide, that a bespoke gin-based Popsicle has been created in partnership with an established distillery.” – Natasha Alomia

Another great thing about the new brand of popsicles is that the packaging is fully recyclable because it is made using more robust Tetrapak material.
