An extra special dose of South African choir magic from the Vox Chamber Choir at the Loftus!

Pretoria, South Africa (27 August 2026) – A proudly South African choir performs proudly South African music with its whole chest!

In October last year, during the United Rugby Championship season, a highly anticipated match saw the Bulls take on Leinster at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria. They won.

We believe, after seeing this goosebumps performance, that a special medley of South African favourites must have had something to do with it!

The Vox Chamber Choir lit up the field on game day alongside the young singers of Curro Hazeldean’s senior school choir.

The magical mash-up of hits they performed is called HEARTBEAT. It features Vicky Sampson’s African Dream, Savuka’s Great Heart, and the Lion King movie’s famous Circle of Life that featured South Africa’s Lebo M as a collaborator.

We were left with teary eyes and big smiles after seeing this!

“What an unforgettable experience it was to perform in front of a massive crowd at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria during the 2025 Bulls vs Leinster match.” the choir shared this week, along with a video of its goosebumps performance. “There is something extraordinary about hearing South African music fill a stadium. What a thrilling experience and a memory we will treasure!”

The choral arrangement of the medley is credited to composer, conductor and founder of the choir, Franco Prinsloo. It features a solo performed by Banele Masuku, and percussion by Peter Djamba & Gert Pottas.

The song was recorded by Ludwig Bouwer from One Big Room Studios and the video shared above was made by Moving North Media & Gropp Media.

Pretoria’s award-winning Vox Chamber Choir is a 40-strong ensemble known for bringing Prinsloo’s contemporary choral works to life.

The choir is fresh off four golden wins at the Afri-Indie Artist Music Awards. It claimed Best Classical Music Single of the Year, Best Classical Music Album of the Year, Best Classical Music Live Performance and Best Instrumental Single of the Year!
