A Korean creator gave her parents a taste of South Africa, preparing boerewors, bunny chow, bobotie and malva pudding entirely from scratch.

Global (08 September 2026) – This creator decided to find out what happens when a Korean family sits down to a proper South African feast.

In a video shared by Crazy Korean Cooking, her Korean parents get to try some South African favourites, including boerewors with chakalaka, bobotie with geelrys, bunny chow with carrot sambal and malva pudding with custard.

And the impressive part? Almost everything was made completely from scratch.

We’re talking homemade boerewors, freshly prepared dishes and even the bread for the bunny chow made from scratch.

The video itself moves at lightning speed, taking you through the preparation and the parents’ taste test in a few very quick bites.

But it’s enough to make you want to pull up a chair.

The creator also gave a shout-out to several South African food creators for the tips and inspiration behind the dishes including Fatima Sydow, NadineDo, Beastly Eats SA, Pants Down Aprons On, EatMee Recipes and Perima’s Kitchen, as well as Patricia Thabile Nyathi on YouTube.

From the savoury kick of chakalaka to the sweetness of malva pudding and custard, it’s quite the introduction to South African food.

And judging by the spread, her parents certainly weren’t given the easy option.
