Though he had no money and no transport, Creamie’s new dad proved that love and determination can overcome any distance to save a life!

Cape Town, South Africa (28 August 2026) – Sometimes, the best owner an abandoned pup can find isn’t someone who has everything, but someone who simply refuses to give up on them. This best captures the story of Creamie and his new dad.

At just eight weeks old, little Creamie was injured and desperately needed help. When his new dad found the tiny, vulnerable puppy, he picked him up, wrapped his wound with a bandage, and walked a long distance to the Animal Welfare Society (AWS) of SA clinic to get him proper care.

The AWS team noted that while Creamie’s dad lacked money and transport, he possessed something far more powerful: love, determination, and an unwavering promise that this little boy would never be left behind.

Together, they showed that a little devotion can carry a bond across any distance.

“The moment we saw them together, we knew Creamie had found his person. Creamie couldn’t stop cuddling his new Daddy, and his Daddy couldn’t stop loving him,” AWS shared.

Creamie was admitted and given the care he needed, including surgery to repair his wound, sterilisation, vaccination, deworming, NexGard and a microchip. After keeping a close eye on the little pup, Creamie was soon nursed back to health and is now home, safe and deeply loved!

Though he had a concerning and critical start, Creamie was lucky enough to find someone who simply refused to give up on him. As AWS eloquently puts it:

“Sometimes, a second chance doesn’t arrive in a fancy car. Sometimes, it comes walking through our doors – carrying a tiny puppy in their arms and refusing to give up.”
