Allan Perrins from the Animal Welfare Society of South Africa sent out a message of thanks to South Africans for contributing to animal charities in 2021.

South Africa (20 December 2021) – Allan Perrins, the AWS Communications Officer, has sent out a thank you to all who contributed to helping them care for animals this year. While the year may be coming to a close, the Animal Welfare Society of South Africa (AWS) will still remain open to care for any animals during the festive and new year break.

The organisation works to protect animals in the Western Cape and surrounds. Based in Phillipi, they are in a key location to combat animal abuse, neglect and offer support to families of lower incomes and means. Through awareness drives, vaccination and sterilisation days, and general medical care for animals, they ensure the local community has healthy, happy animals.

They support around 4000 animals per month, and the clinic is open seven days a week.

“Today, we want to express how grateful we are to every one of you who make our efforts possible!

Thank you to everyone who adopted a pet from the Animal Welfare Society of South Africa. We would not be able to fulfil our mission without each and every one of you who opened your home to an animal in need.

Thank you to everyone who donated to us this year, allowing us to provide food and medication to our patients and adoptables; help maintain and expand our facilities, and support the staff and activities that enrich their stay with us until they embark upon the next chapter in their lives.

Thank you to everyone who brought donated food and pet supplies to the shelter.

Thank you to our business partners who provide services to support our animals and facility. These in-kind gifts represent hundreds of thousands of Rands that we are able to commit to our animals.

Thank you to everyone in our community, whose interest and support make our work possible.

We are so grateful to everyone who touches and enriches the lives of the animals dependent on us and wish you and your family the same good will that you so generously bestow upon the Animal Welfare Society of South Africa.

Kindly note that we will be open throughout the Festive Season so if you’d like to expand upon your amazing support of the Animal Welfare Society of South Africa’s animals this Festive Season, please make a donation Sustain Our Mission”

They have shared some truly heartwarming stories over the year. From Joy, the elusive Ottery stray being caught, to Marline and Denika Karsten hoping to pay for their dog’s medical care with a packet of Nik-Naks.

You can support the organisation over the holidays by donating here.
