The infamous wild Caracal wandering around Lion’s Head in Cape Town has been sighted again!
Cape Town, South Africa – Cape Town’s wild Caracal has been sighted again, this time with the most beautiful urban backdrop!
The Caracal is a medium-sized wild cat native to Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and India. The mammal is characterised by a robust build, long legs, a short face, long tufted ears and long canine teeth.
Typically nocturnal, the Caracal is highly secretive and difficult to observe. It is territorial and lives mainly alone or in pairs.
The photos were shared to a Facebook page called “The Most Beautiful City in the World” and show the wild Caracal in its natural habitat with Green Point Stadium peaking in the background.
But this is not the first time the beautiful wild animal has been spotted.
“When we arrived at the launch at 6h30, Iain spotted the Caracal in the bushes, feeding on something.”
“It disappeared for a few minutes, then suddenly reappeared on the mat, unperturbed by our presence. It stayed near us for about 10 minutes, before heading down the mountain towards Clifton.”
