A doggy daycare’s crew of dogs (with some help from their owners) came together to raise funds for their shelter dogs at DARG!

Hout Bay, South Africa (03 February 2025) — A crew of dog pals at a doggy daycare centre in Hout Bay joined paws recently to do something impressive for their shelter friends over at DARG.

DARG (Domestic Animal Rescue Group) is a pro-life, non-profit based in Hout Bay that has been at the centre of numerous good news stories. This is thanks to their dedication to animal welfare and their incredible network of supporters that range from hikers to upstanding youngsters like Charlie and Zac—the siblings who raised a small fortune for their animal heroes in December.

The recent pack of supporters came as a literal pack—dogs from Pooch Doggy Daycare who, together with a little help from their humans, raised thousands of rands for the shelter dogs at DARG!

The dog crew and their owners together raised an amount of R15,000 for DARG—a huge helping paw and dose of generosity that DARG was “blown away by”.

The doggy daycare, owned by Jarryd and Nadine, was also given a shoutout for their support. They have also assisted the DARG dogs before with matters like hugely helpful socialisation events and double as a foster home!

Meanwhile, in more good news for Hout Bay charities, music education charity Kronendal Music Academy have officially found their forever home—a dream the team have had for 18 long years.
