Umdloti Beach

Richard Melvill was out for a surf when he spotted a pod of dolphins just off the shore of Umdloti Beach so he sent his drone out for some epic footage!

Richard Melvill was in the right place at the right time to capture a pod of dolphins swimming near the shore of Umdloti Beach. The playful creatures can be seen riding waves right near the surfers.

Richard used a Mavic Pro drone to capture all the footage of the dolphins and surfers in the area.

Umdloti Beach is located in KwaZulu-Natal and is famous for dolphin spotting! The dolphins love to swim near the shoreline in the early mornings. The area is also a popular whale watching destination, the best times being from July to November.

Richard enjoys posting video’s of his surf sessions and spends many weekends down at the beach. He also teaches people to Kite Surf, he has been an instructor for just over 5 years.

“Stunning morning in Umdloti this weekend.” – Richard Melvill
