Visiting the beach, bush or elsewhere this festive season? This awesome and very easy challenge will give you an instant mood boost and benefit the planet.

We are all so excited for the festive season holidays to start. Whether you are heading to the coast or staying home you can make a real difference to the environment by joining in on this easy challenge.

The beaches always take major strain when the holidays start, more people head to the ocean meaning there is more litter laying around. The same can be said for most popular public spaces.

Take 3 was started in Australia in 2009 but it is a global challenge. Take 3 encourages people who are out in public spaces to take their litter and throw it away responsibly and also pick up 3 pieces of litter that are laying around the area.

“Simply take 3 pieces of rubbish with you when you leave the beach, waterway or…anywhere and you’ve made a difference. Pick it up. Bin it. #take3forthesea”

Once you have your litter, snap a selfie and challenge your friends to do it too! We are all for challenges that benefit something great so the Good Things Guy team are challenging all South African holidaymakers to take up the challenge every single day this festive season (and every day in the new year).

Use the hashtag #take3forthesea on your selfie and don’t forget to challenge your friends. You can tag specific friends or your entire friend list. This challenge can be shared globally as litter is a global issue.

“We believe lots of small individual actions can have a big impact on the planet. The more people who join our tribe and take action, the more we can do for the world’s oceans!” – Take 3
