A cat who went missing in Kyalami Estate in October was found almost 3 months later… in a drain… 27 kilometres away!
Johannesburg, South Africa (30 December 2020) – A story has been trending on South Africa social media circles about a Siberian Forest cat named Jordan, that went missing in Kyalami estates in October this year and was found in Midstream Estate on Christmas Day, almost 3 months later!
Paul Treleven, a well-known artist in South Africa, shared the incredible story with Good Things Guy! We’re guessing that only Jordan will ever know how he ended up so far from home, but such a good feel story!
Read it below:

This is the story about Jordan the Siberian Forest cat… Jordan lives in Kyalami, North of Sandton, South Africa. He happens to come from the same lady we got Allikat from; he is a year or so younger than Allikat.
We had never met Jordan before today (23 December) but in mid-October this year… I saw a Facebook post from the lady that bred him, posted by his owners stating that he had gone missing.
When I saw this post, it worried me, and I couldn’t stop thinking about this poor guy. I spoke to my wife about him too on a few occasions.
For those that don’t know Kyalami is the area of the world-famous Formula One racing circuit. We live roughly 27 kilometres from Jordan’s home. Between the two areas, you’ll find residential, commercial, factories and a 10 lane highway!
I was scrolling through Facebook, and I saw a post on our estate owners group about a cat living in a drain next to the road. I immediately thought that it looked like a Siberian. I screengrabbed and sent the image to Cherylee, the breeder, and she messaged back to say that could be Jordan. We drove to the address in our estate where the cat had been spotted and spoke to the lady that posted the image and then we started calling Jordan.
In less than 30 seconds, Jordan came running out to us and straight to my wife, who picked him up and held him. He was really skinny and extremely hungry… but was purring nevertheless.

We then took him to our estate veterinarian for a scan and as true as nuts; it was Jordan!!! We traced his owners and called them immediately (they were about to board a flight back to Johannesburg) and told them we had found their boy!
We decided to drive him through to his home so he’d be there when they arrived back. Jordan had a good meal, got welcome licks from his dog mates and is now fast asleep back home.
What a fantastic adventure for all involved!!!

**Correction: Paul Treleven has confirmed that Jordan was actually found on the 23rd of December, and not Christmas Day as many of the social media posts are saying.
