Almost 20cm of Snow on the mountains has brought another freezing day to South Africa… but the photos look so magical!
Afriski, Lesotho (15 August 2021) – Over the last two nights, Afriski Mountain Resort in Lesotho has turned into a Winter Wonderland with almost 20cm of snow.
The snowfall started at around 8 pm on Friday and has not stopped!
“Our winter season is in its final month and despite COVID restrictions limiting our Gauteng guests for a few weeks and making it a more challenging journey for our day visitors, we have had a great season so far,” says Peter Peyper, MD of Afriski Mountain Resort.
The conditions throughout the season have been really good, with sunny days on the slopes, our guests adhering to social distancing and enjoying the outdoors. This recent snowfall is a gift to carry us through to the end of our Winter snow experience.
Roads are currently closed to all vehicles but visit this link to check on road conditions before planning your trip to the resort: https://afriski.net/mountain-conditions/.
