Dogtown South Africa triumphed on the global stage, winning a prestigious award!

 

Johannesburg, South Africa (27 November 2023) – Dogtown South Africa was awarded the prestigious International Training Programme Award at the International Companion Animal Welfare Conference (ICAWC) 2023 in Nicosia, Cyprus – a massive win for the local animal welfare organisation and all of South Africa!

Not only did she win the award, but the passionate animal lover presented a talk titled ‘From Stress to Success: Transforming Shelter Dogs Through Behavior Rehabilitation and Enrichment’.

ICAWC, a premier global conference, convenes experts from around the world to discuss companion animal welfare, fostering a platform for knowledge exchange and inspiration among hundreds of delegates.

Tracy’s dynamic talk addressed the crucial need for affordable and practical enrichment techniques in resource-limited environments, highlighting Dogtown South Africa’s innovative approach tailored to South Africa’s unique challenges. Her message clearly highlighted the pivotal role of crafting personalised enrichment plans catering to each shelter dog’s distinctive background and challenges. Tracy brought her presentation to life with heartwarming success stories from Dogtown South Africa, vividly demonstrating the profound transformations achievable through dedication and ingenuity despite budget constraints.
