Arriving at the Woodrock Animal Rescue with a troubled past that left her wary of human contact and resistant to even walking on a leash, Kikko has experienced a transformation that will restore your belief in the power of patience, love and care for a scarred soul.

Gauteng, South Africa (19 March 2025) – Once incredibly nervous and untrusting of just about anyone who attempted to come close to her, Kikko has truly come a long way.

Kikko, is a precious doggo who was a little rough around the edges due to being in circumstances that didn’t nurture her to grow and blossom into the soft furbaby she was always meant to be.

According to Sir James, who has been working tirelessly to calm and train Kikko, this stunning black dog was extremely nervous upon arriving at Woodrock Animal Rescue, refusing to be touched or walk on a leash.

However, within two weeks of patience and care, a remarkable change has taken place in Kikko. She now walks on a leash, listens to instructions, sits peacefully next to volunteers and has a newfound confidence.

Thanks to the dedication of the rescue shelter’s amazing team, she’s ready for adoption!

A heartwarming video shows a softer side to this lovable girl, with her tail wagging as she accepts the guidance and care of the Woodrock team.

“Each and every dog that comes to Woodrock is in safe hands,” affirms Sir James as Kikko plays happily in the background.

Kikko’s journey beautifully illustrates how much a dog can change, in the best way, when given some time and consistent tender loving care.
