A wave of warm relief has washed over the Amanzimtoti SPCA this week! After months of dealing with the devastating loss and repeated vandalism of their crucial vehicle, the heartfelt pleas of this dedicated animal welfare charity have been answered in the most heartwarming way.
Amanzimtoti, South Africa (11 April 2025) – The prayers and pleas of Amanzimtoti SPCA have been heard and answered.
This week, the animal welfare charity’s members breathed a collective sigh of relief upon receiving a new vehicle from The South African Muslim Charitable Trust following months of struggle.
Last year, the SPCA’s reliable vehicle, which was essential for responding to animal emergencies and cruelty complaints, was hijacked and vandalised on more than one occasion. This resulted in significant disruptions to the SPCA’s operations and incurred repair costs that negatively impacted their finances.
The donation of the new vehicle has lifted a huge weight off the volunteers’ shoulders as they will now be able to continue their operations effectively and with peace of mind.
Amanzimtoti SPCA’s Michelle Hannan opened the vehicle handover day with a heartfelt prayer, thanking God and all those who made this special moment possible. She best describes their efforts as those exuding love for the community and its animals.
More members expressed their gratitude for the gift in kind that will make a significant difference in being of service to animals, as well as conducting outreach programmes and routine inspections in the diverse and vast area they cover.
The South African Muslim Charitable Trust’s intervention in the SPCA’s hour of need is a beautiful showcase of the power of community and how burdens, when tackled together, can be mitigated and in this case, can also bring joy to countless furbabies!
Wishing these animal heroes many safe miles and missions ahead!
