Planet Savers recently launched Planet Children, an initiative that aims to inspire and educate the next generation of conservationists, empowering them to become active protectors of our planet.

Cape Town, South Africa (31 October 2024) – The drive to create a world where every child is connected to nature and grows to become a protector of the planet lies at the heart of Planet Savers. It is with this vision that the organisation successfully launched Planet Children this month.

Planet Children is dedicated to educating and inspiring the next generation to play an active role in nature conservation.

By educating young people through awareness and experiences by means of workshops and community engagement, the initiative hopes to foster environmental stewardship and a love for nature.

“The goal is to ultimately lead them into internships in the fields of nature conservation or field guides with the planet’s wellbeing being top of mind,” Planet Savers shared.

Founded by environmental advocate Cameron Bramley, Planet Savers believes that empowering children and youth can secure a sustainable future for the planet.

Beyond environmental education, they recently reached out to local schools in the communities they operate bearing parcels of food to ensure the children have nutritional food sources. This is an important part of the organisation’s mission to make a difference in the lives of the future leaders they are nurturing.

“Many communities face socio-economic issues such as poverty, inadequate healthcare, and limited access to quality education. These challenges are deeply interconnected with environmental sustainability.

“Struggling communities are often more vulnerable to environmental degradation, and without addressing these socio-economic factors, long-term sustainability efforts are hindered. Empowering these communities is essential for building a sustainable future for the planet.”

With so many challenges that threaten the environment, Planet Children, while it is a new project, hopes to make great strides by investing in the next generation.
