Condé Nast Traveller has named South Africa as the fourth best country in the world to visit in their annual Travel Awards… and we couldn’t agree more (although we may have put us at number one).

The annual Readers’ Travel Awards celebrates the best of the best in travel, as voted for by people who love travel: the readers of Condé Nast Traveller. Readers have to rate their favourite countries based on various criteria including food, accommodation, scenery, value for money.

More than 100,000 readers from around the globe responded to the travel magazine’s reader survey of favorite cities, hotels, resorts, islands, airlines, cruise lines, future travel destinations and world’s friendliest cities.

The readers voted Greece as the number one spot, Italy as the second (with the best food), USA third (with the best places to stay) and South Africa as fourth, offering the greatest value for money.

And just to add to our celebrations… Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat in Cederberg, made the list as one of the ‘Ultimate Travel Top 20’ places, which lists the very best travel experiences from around the world!

Bushmans Kloof is already a multi award-winning lodge, nestled in the foothills of the Cederberg Mountains offering a “distinctive wilderness experience among open plains and ancient sandstone formations, including over 130 sites of bush art paintings”, according to its website.
