The Two Oceans Aquarium is celebrating 30 years of bringing the ocean’s treasure to those of us on land, and as their gift to South Africa, birthday months are about to get a whole lot more exciting with free visits to the Aquarium!
Cape Town, South Africa (03 February 2025) — The Two Oceans Aquarium is celebrating 30 years of bringing ocean treasures to those of us on land this year, and they’re giving South Africans the best gift as a thank you for all the years of love.
Not just a must-visit spot for the marine-curious, the Aquarium has also been the backbone behind a wealth of good for our greater ocean with decades of efforts focused on marine education, conservation missions and an abundance of rescue and rehabilitation successes through the Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation.
In celebrating these 30 years of fantastic work, TOA has decided to give South Africa a big thank you. Where previously, one could receive free entry to the aquarium on your birthday or six days after, now free entry is available for the entirety of your birthday month!
Here’s What You Need to Know to Make the Most of This Gift
- You need to be a South African citizen or a permanent resident and have your valid identification documents with you (originals or photocopies).
- If you’re four years old or older, then you can get free entry! Those younger than four already have free entry access.
- The birthday gift is applicable for a single visit on any day during your birthday month (the calendar month of your birthday—ie, if you are born in February, this means any day from the first day of the month to the last, not 30 days before your birthday).
- The opportunity is valid until 31 January 2026.
- Tickets, unfortunately, can’t be pre-booked but rather must be organised in person at the onsite ticket office on the day. They also cannot be collected on behalf of someone else or in advance.
