Umdloti Beach

Richard Melvill, an avid traveller and talented surfer, recently got some incredible footage using his drone. He sent it out over the water at Umdloti Beach and captured playful dolphins.

Umdloti Beach is one of KwaZulu-Natal’s more beautiful beaches. Located in Durban, the beach is a popular spot to go surfing or dolphin watching. Richard Melvill recently went to the beach with his drone and managed to film the dolphins frolicking in the waves. Umdloti is situated ten kilometers north of Umhlanga Rocks.

The single entry road leads down to the beach, surrounded by a small town. It is a popular place during the South African holiday seasons.

The surfspot is a good one if you don’t mind sharing the waves with playful dolphins. It looks like an incredible experience, the dolphins jump in and out of the waves, or ride along with them.

Richard has travelled far and wide, always capturing his trips on his drone. He has even had the pleasure of filming a whale and her baby swimming and playing along in the water at Umdloti beach.

Moments like these are real treasure and always put a smile on our faces.
