The rescue of the ten lions from a private breeding facility was one of the most significant rescue projects in South Africa for FOUR PAWS.
Bethlehem, South Africa (17 December 2022) – In October this year, ten lions were rescued from a breeding facility, being kept in inappropriate conditions where they ran the risk of being euthanised.
Ever since then, FOUR PAWS – the global animal welfare organisation for animals under the direct human influence – has been working tirelessly to secure a forever home for them.
“Hard work pays off, and we are happy to share that we were finally able to rescue the ‘Golded Pride’. Our team arrived on site with the trucks and crates; they darted the lions and loaded them for their final journey home. Even though the atmosphere was tense due to the large number of animals, our rescue team ensured that everything was conducted swiftly and safely.”
The animal welfare organisation were “super excited” to move the pride to their new forever home at LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary.
