Camping in the wilderness can be an exciting adventure, and now families can join a worthy cause through a campout fundraiser hosted by the Kogelberg Biosphere Wildlife Rescue and Training Centre.
South Africa (01 April 2025) – Since opening recently, the Kogelberg Biosphere Wildlife Rescue and Training Centre is on a mission to boost funding to help in caring for wildlife in the Western Cape. The centre is the only multi-species wildlife rescue facility of its kind in the Western Cape, going a long way to making a difference in saving little wild creatures.
The centre, led by Michelle Watson, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of indigenous wildlife. The centre also provides training for veterinarians and conservation students, as well as to the public, to promote peaceful human-wildlife coexistence.
As part of its new fundraising efforts, the team are putting on a fun campout for the family. The team have shared all you need to know for a family fun getaway below:
A Feel-Good Family Getaway with a Purpose
The Wild Weekend Family Campout is designed for families looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and immerse themselves in nature. With no screens, no stress, and no rush—just fresh air, good company, and the chance to be part of something bigger—this event promises to be as heartwarming as it is adventurous.
All proceeds from the campout will directly support the Kogelberg Biosphere Wildlife Rescue & Training Centre, helping fund medical care, rescue operations, and educational programs that inspire future generations to protect wildlife.
Campers can look forward to an exciting lineup of activities, including:
