And they call it puppy love…

Durban, South Africa (04 February 2026) – Another opportunity to celebrate one of the purest forms of love on Valentine’s Day and make a difference doing so!

In Stellies, lovebirds are having a picnic with paws, and in Ballito, people are spreading puppy love in the park! Valentine’s Day is shaping up to be such a goodie this year.

In support of SAFE Network, Secret Sunrise Durban is hosting a special yoga class on Valentine’s Day where puppies will put their paws to the mat with participants! The event will be a guided, silent, morning yoga session designed to celebrate the sunrise, promote wellness, and support a well-deserving animal welfare organisation.

As with any Secret Sunrise event, participants wear wireless headphones and follow instructors in a joyful experience that leaves you energised and amped up for the day ahead.

The Valentine’s Day Puppy Yoga event will take place at Sugar Rush Park in Ballito. Everyone joining the class will be supporting an organisation that goes above and beyond for animals in Ballito and surrounds.

SAFE is dedicated to rescuing, fostering, and rehoming abandoned, abused, or neglected dogs. It also conducts sterilisation and vaccination programs in the area.

They do wonderful work, but they need support. On the 28th of January, the organisation was forced to close services to new cases. Not for a lack of wanting to help, but a lack of support.

With funding for ongoing care of its current rescues running low and costs of running on the climb, the organisation needs to first meet its commitments before it can extend any further help – which is desperately needed, too.

“…Three major vet bills outstanding, 150 dogs on the ground that were meant to get food 3 days ago and have not because there is just not enough in the account or on the shelf, calls and messages still coming in thick and fast, and we can’t help more – kennels are full of our dogs that are still waiting for homes – some for over 2 years and more,” the organisation shared in a plea for help.

Every little donation and share goes a long way in covering the basics.

And so will the yoga event on Saturday. Grab your mats and share some love for the pups and the incredible people who fight for them.
