Swat Cat

The Boston Police Dept is home to a sassy little cat. She adopted the department 4 years ago, the department named her ‘Swat Cat’

The cat showed up at the Boston Police Department 4 years ago and never left. She became their mascot so they named her Swat Cat.

“The officers in the unit have been caring for the adorable stray Calico since she began prowling around the BPD Special Weapons and Tactics base back in 2013″

She refused to go into the station and insists on living outside in the elements. In January it snowed heavily so officer Jamie Pietroski, a 15-year veteran of the Boston Police Department, stayed late after work for several nights painstakingly preparing Swat Cat’s new home.

“The condo features a spacious studio interior layout, a large deck for outdoor dining and glass sliding doors offering panoramic city views.”

She loved the condo and moved in immediately!

“Swat Cat moved right in and looks very happy with her new custom kitty accommodations.”

“BPD SWAT Team have tried numerous tactics over the years to convince her to come in from the elements but she is set in her ways. They have built numerous shelters for her in the past – none more impressive than this one which is fully insulated and suits her independent lifestyle.”
