One local creator is acting out Trevor’s iconic bits, and it’s just a perfect blend of funny and familiar.
South Africa (13 July 2025) – Remember those Trevor Noah stand-up bits? The ones you could not stop quoting, where he would switch accents mid-story and act out the scenes on stage all by himself? If you are looking for something to make you laugh without thinking too hard, this one is for you. Every now and then, the internet gifts us with a creator who blends nostalgia, humour and acting talent into something that makes you smile.
One creator, Leruo Maatla, has taken it upon himself to bring back the classic Trevor Noah stand-up comedy that had us all in stitches back in the day. Surely you remember the stories about growing up in South Africa, the school trips and over-the-top characters. Just a great way of capturing South Africa’s diversity in a short format. He has turned those moments into skits, and honestly? It works way better seeing these characters come to life.
Instead of watching a full stand-up special, you get bite-sized scenes from your favourite Trevor Noah sets. Acted out with just the right amount of drama, timing and chaos. One minute, he’s Trevor. Then the next he is Trevor’s mom. Or a taxi driver, teacher, or politician, the list is endless. The real charm is in the delivery. The expressions, tone and awkward silence in between.
@leruo.mkHow the British took over India😂
Just good storytelling with a local twist and a face that manages to play different people all at once. It’s nostalgic, but not in a soppy way. It’s just funny, familiar and feels like something you would forward in a group chat to share a good laugh. No need for fancy editing or viral trends, just solid comedic timing. You can tell he is not trying to reinvent jokes. In doing so, it reminds us why those old stand-up shows were so iconic in the first place.
Whether you know them off by heart or you are just looking for something funny, these skits are worth checking out. They are short, sharp and full of local flavour.
