An account was created to break Kylie Jenner’s Instagram record for the most liked post and all it was, was a picture of an egg!

The internet is a bizarre place sometimes. It brings so much joy and sometimes a little flare of odd. But the spirit of it is often in the right place.

Recently an account was created to break a social media record held by Kylie Jenner. The record: The most liked post on Instagram. Kylie held the record since the 6th of February last year. The number to beat was 18-million likes on her picture of her and daughter Stormi’s tiny hand.

The account featured only one post, an image of an egg. At first, we thought it was just a yolk joke…

The idea was completely ridiculous at the start but then people became intrigued by the idea of an egg bumping Kylie off her record-holding throne. Quickly the post gained traction and then went on to break the record with a staggering 38-million likes.

The egg seemed to ruffle her feathers a little as she retaliated to the news of her record being broken by smashing an egg on the sidewalk. The egg people are not too concerned and have suggested they plan to break many more records.

“This is madness. What a time to be alive. Thank you so much for all of your support and messages. I’m gonna try to get back to as many of you as possible. But for now I need to sleep. It doesn’t end here though, we’re only just getting started. #EggGang. Mic drop.(sic)”

The idea is a little egg-centric but people are loving it so we guess this time, the internet wins.
