It’s that time of year again, when all the big retailers famous for good Christmas adverts, start to release them to the public; this year’s John Lewis one gave us all the warm feelings!
Global (14 November 2022) – Christmas adverts are a big thing in the United Kingdom. The annual celebration of Christmas in a short movie is highly anticipated similarly to the adverts for the Super Bowl in the United States.
Not being part of either country has never stopped us from loving the adverts too. They are heartwarming, bring a tear to the eye and sometimes make us laugh out loud.
The John Lewis & Partners Christmas advert is a television advertising campaign released by the British department store chain in the build-up to Christmas. John Lewis & Partners launched their first Christmas advert in 2007 and it has since become something of an annual tradition in the UK, and one of the signals that the countdown to Christmas has begun.
The 2022 advert is called “The Beginner” and tells the story of a middle-aged man learning to skateboard for the first time. The story builds up until he finally gets his trick right; then we get the heartwarming reason why he went through so much trouble in the first place. We won’t spoil it, so take a look below.
