Every year John Lewis leaves us in puddles of tears but this year, they have gone with a lighthearted advert that shares the message that everyone deserves a bit of Christmas.

Global (09 November 2023) – If you were expecting a heart-pulling, tear-jerking advert from John Lewis this year, it’s not happening. They have broken from tradition and shared a light-hearted advert this year. Snapper as it is called, is about a young boy who grows a giant Venus fly trap to be the family Christmas tree.

The Venus fly trap and the young boy form a bond and before long, play along with each other, much to Mom’s dismay. When the Venus fly trap starts causing trouble, the family exile it to the outdoors.

We think the message here is that everyone deserves a Christmas, even a carnivorous plant. Again, following on the theme of kindness for this festive season, we love it!

Take a look at the 2023 advert below.

If you were looking forward to a little festive cry, below are all the adverts from the past 10 years. Most of them will definitely make you cry! If you are looking for more heartwarming adverts, you can check out all the ones we have shared over the years, right here.
