One last call to pull up your fanciest, silliest, funnest socks on Friday!

South Africa (18 September 2025) – It’s almost time for South Africans to pull up those fun socks and wear them with pride because the Socks for Smiles campaign is nearly at the finish line!

The Smile Foundation is just two days away from reaching its target of raising R2.5 million, enough to fund 100 life-changing reconstructive surgeries for children across the country.

Earlier this month, we shared how the campaign was inviting everyone to don their brightest socks on Friday, 19 September. Now, with the big day almost here, it’s crunch time and every last sticker can make a change.

“This is the final push and every sticker truly counts,” says Moira Gerszt, Acting CEO of Smile Foundation. “We are deeply grateful to our partners, ambassadors, and every South African who is taking part. Together, we are creating brighter futures.”

All it takes to join in is R20 and your favourite pair of socks. On Friday, schools, offices, and communities around South Africa have an excuse to show off their fanciest socks. We’re excited to see all the stripes, spots and silly patterns!

The good thing is that it’s all in the name of helping children get the smiles they deserve.

If you haven’t grabbed your sticker yet, you still can at Dis-Chem, Baby City, Cape Union Mart, Sandton City, or online at www.smilefoundationsa.org

Group efforts make a massive difference. Companies, schools and community groups are encouraged to get last-minute bulk packs or sponsor stickers for under-resourced schools so more children can join the fun.

It’s light-hearted, it’s joyful, and it’s one small step that can change a child’s life forever.
