Put on your snazziest socks and change 100 children’s lives!
South Africa (01 September 2025) – We’ve found yet another reason for you to bust out your fun socks this September! First, for Funky Socks Day on Friday, 12 September and now on 19 September for a cause that aims to do all the good things.
The Smile Foundation is up to something again, this time with its ‘Socks for Smiles’ initiative, which aims to raise R2.5 million to fund 100 life-changing reconstructive surgeries for children across South Africa.
Getting involved is super easy.
All you need to do is purchase a Socks for Smile Sticker and show up with your brightest socks on 19 September. Go to school in your fun, colourful socks, show up at work donning your most exciting pair, and get your team involved. Hit the streets with the rainbow on your feet.
Every sticker bought for only R20 is a step closer to helping a child smile again.
South African stars to the likes of Swing City, The Muses, Lady Zamar, Gugulethu Nyatsumba, DJ Milkshake, Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg, John Vlismas, Themba Robin, and Toniquinne Becker will all be donning their fun socks, too.
“We wanted to create something that’s fun, simple, and accessible but still powerful in its purpose,” says Loyiso Bala, Smile Foundation ambassador and campaign advocate. “Socks for Smiles is a reminder that even the smallest act can have a life-changing impact.”
So on 19 September, let your socks do all the talking and help change a child’s life. It’s fun, it’s lighthearted, and you’ll be making a difference.
