A now-viral video captured a spontaneous dance-off between a young woman and a road worker at a stop-and-go sign, and it was all kinds of wholesome!
Free State, South Africa (17 September 2025) – It could only be in South Africa that a stop-and-go roadblock sign could set the stage for an epic dance show!
This golden moment was captured somewhere in the Fezile Dabi District Municipality in a now-trending video shared on TikTok by Bulelwa Mkumbeni.
The footage filmed by a friend from inside a vehicle shows Bulelwa dancing to a popular amapiano track outside near the roadblock. Just moments later, a road worker approaches the scene, prompting a shy Bulelwa to stop her dance moves.
However, just as she is about to walk back to the car, the road worker joins in and starts dancing as well, showcasing some impressive moves. Naturally, Bulelwa and the worker share a heartwarming moment, laughing and dancing together, before she returns to the car and the worker goes back to her duties.
“She could see I was shy, and then she joined me,” Bulelwa wrote in the video.
The video is currently sitting on 1.7 million views with over a thousand comments from South Africans, who couldn’t help but adore the worker for showing kindness and good vibes to Bulelwa.
“Kind people make me weak,” commented Surprise Majunju.
Another TikTokker, Sipho Madyaka, admitted that watching the worker join Bulelea in the impromptu dance routine made him emotional.
Some users were also impressed by the worker’s unexpected dance skills with Vuyokazi Mangwane106, saying to Bulelwa:
“I’m afraid she outdid you at your own idea”.
Our people love having a good time, and this right here is proof in the pudding… or should we say, at the stop-and-go sign. Either way, we’re a vibe, and we applaud these two women for the heartwarming reminder that joy and connection can be found just about anywhere and of course, to the cameraman for capturing it!
