The Mzansi Youth Choir returned to America’s Got Talent for the Qualifiers and gave a beautiful performance of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Everywhere’.

United States of America (07 September 2023) – The Mzansi Youth Choir wowed at the Qualifiers of America’s Got Talent (AGT) and left the judges in awe of their outfits, talent and unity. The very best part, is that Nightbirde’s family were in the audience to watch Mzansi Youth Choir perform.

The Mzansi Youth Choir earned the Golden Buzzer earlier this year for their rendition of Nightbirde’s “It’s Ok”. This buzzer was special because for the first time in the history of AGT, the Golden Buzzer was awarded by the audience.

Nightbirde first became a household name in June 2021 when she received an emotional golden buzzer at America’s Got Talent, for her song, “It’s Ok” and it was an instant hit with fans.

Nightbirde, whose name was Jane Marczewski, had been battling cancer. She was given a 2% chance to live, or in a time frame, around six months and decided to live her life to the fullest. The golden buzzer moment meant that Nightbirde would be sent straight to the live shows.

Before the live shows started, she withdrew from the competition, citing her health and needing to focus on her cancer battle. Her announcement was an emotional one that left judge Simon Cowell in tears when she appeared on the show to share her news. Sadly, she later lost her battle with cancer.

Before her passing, Nightbirde had the chance to hear the Mzansi Youth Choir’s rendition of her song and she shared her thoughts with them and the world.

“Thank you so much Mzansi Youth Choir in South Africa for the beautiful tribute. I was holding back tears as I listened. How moving, and what an honor!” – Nightbirde

The judges love that the choir add their own flare to each of their performances. From costume to culture, the choir has continued to inspire.
