Jane Marczewski, known as Nightbirde, had Simon Cowell in tears when she returned to America’s Got Talent for one special episode!
Hollywood, United States (23 August 2021) – Her golden buzzer performance has been seen over 200 million times but Nightbirde who sadly had to drop out of the competition due to her treatment returned to say hi to the world at the start of the “live results show”.
Nightbirde, whose name is Jane Marczewski, has been battling aggressive cancer. She was given a 2% chance to live, or in a time frame, around six months. She decided to live her life to the fullest and face one of her biggest dreams, sharing her music and poetry with the world.
Her song “It’s Okay” is the story of her cancer battle and the last year of her life. During her audition, she explained to the judges that she is ok but explains she has cancer in her spine, lungs, and liver. This generally indicates an advanced stage of cancer.
Jane hoped people would understand that she is so much more than the bad things happening in her life. While she was only given a 2% chance of surviving, she planned to take every chance and opportunity that came her way. America’s Got Talent was one of her biggest dreams.

Nightbirde’s Golden Buzzer meant she was pushed through to the live shows, but earlier this month, she announced her need to step down from the America’s Got Talent stage. This was always a possibility due to her ongoing cancer treatment.
“Sharing my heart with the world on AGT has been an honour and a dream come true. My point of view this summer has been astounding. What a miracle that the pain I’ve walked through can be reworked into beauty that makes people all over the world open their eyes wider.
Since my audition, my health has taken a turn for the worse and the fight with cancer is demanding all my energy and attention. I am so sad to announce that I won’t be able to continue forward on this season of AGT. Life doesn’t always give breaks to those that deserve it—but we knew that already.
Thank you for all your support, it means the world to me. Stay with me, I’ll be better soon. I’m planning my future, not my legacy. Pretty beat up, but I’ve still got dreams.”
