In his latest video, Cool Story Bru highlights the proudly local brands and goods that have become global favourites.

South Africa (17 February 2026) – There’s something satisfying about spotting a proudly South African product on a shelf overseas.

In one of his latest video, content creator Austin Macaskill, known on social media as Cool Story Bru, taps into that feeling by spotlighting South African products that the rest of the world has embraced.

Cool Story Bru, who has built a following by sharing some of the most entertaining and unexpected stories about South Africa, turns his attention to everyday items that have gone global.

Take Ceres juice, made in the Cederberg region of the Western Cape and now stocked internationally. Or Rooibos tea, a plant that grows naturally only in South Africa, yet is brewed in homes across Europe, Asia and North America.

Then there’s Nando’s, which grew into an international restaurant powerhouse. It’s flame-grilled chicken and those unmistakable sauces.

The list continues with Amarula, exported worldwide, and South African wines, consistently ranked among the best in global markets. South Africa is also one of the world’s largest producers of macadamia nuts, in strong demand across Asia and Europe.

As well as the products in your pantry, like Mrs H.S Ball’s chutney.

South Africa’s influence travels further than many realise, all from supermarket shelves in London to restaurant menus in Sydney.
