The Rest Ur Ass Donkey Sanctuary is hosting a romantic movie night for Valentine’s Day where you and your date can cuddle rescued donkeys.

Johannesburg, South Africa (25 January 2023) – The Rest Ur Ass Donkey Sanctuary is currently home to 130 rescued donkeys. Each has a name and a story to tell and this Valentine’s Day, you and your date can meet them all!

The sanctuary provides a forever home to abused and abandoned donkeys. They will all spend the remaining years of their lives at the sanctuary, where they are cared for 24/7. None of the donkeys on the premises are used for rides, work or are allowed to be physically adopted out. They will spend the rest of their lives, resting and enjoying the perks of retirement at the sanctuary.

To give them this opportunity, the sanctuary needs to raise funds to cover the costs of their care and any medical expenses. This year the team is hosting a Valentine’s Day event to bring in some much-needed funding.

Whether you have a first date to impress or are a group of “Galentine’s Day” celebrators, the sanctuary welcomes all to join for a picnic, movie night and lots of donkey cuddles. The ticket price is per couple and includes a meal, a cold drink, movie snacks and gifts for the couple. There will also be healthy donkey snacks for sale so you can entice a few extra cuddles from your furry naaaybours (we are not even a little bit sorry for that one!). The movie on offer is a Jennifer Lopez rom-com featuring Owen Wilson called “Marry Me”.

You can find out all about the event via Facebook here. If you cannot attend this event, stay tuned to the sanctuary’s social pages as they often host events throughout the year.
