In April 2017, someone created a Twitter account called “Has Zuma Quit Yet?” and tweeted every single day, without fail, the word “No”. That was until Valentine’s Day when the account finally got to tweet “YES”
The Twitter account went live shortly before the ‘Zuma Must Fall’ marches started in April 2017. The call for Zuma to step down was massive with most standing up and joining the marches across the country. It was an exciting time for everyone but sadly, the marches did nothing and Zuma remained in office for the rest of 2017.
The very first tweet can be seen below. It is not known who the person behind the account is but they became dedicated to the account and posted one tweet every single day.
The tweets picked up some popularity and some particularly bad Zuma days, the account got creative with their “No” tweets.

Finally, the account got to Tweet a “Yes”, and made us giggle because after that yes, what else is there? We got in contact with the anonymous tweeter and asked what it felt like to finally get a Yes.
“I felt good about typing three letters instead of two for change. It became my ritual even when hungover”
“This account has nothing to do politically wise. It was just fun”
Yes

Followers have encouraged the anonymous tweeter to immortalise the page and turn it into an art piece. Others have thanked the person for their 10-month commitment. We agree, it was a random page at first but it all paid off in the end.
jippieeeee
