Amron’s journey from local majorettes competitions in the Eastern Cape to national selection is now inspiring community support for her Poland trip.
East London, South Africa (07 May 2026) – A dream years in the making could soon take young majorette athlete Amron from Gonubie in the Eastern Cape all the way to Poland after she earned selection to represent South Africa on the international stage.
The Grade 8 learner has officially been selected as part of the national majorettes team set to compete in Poland during September and October this year.
Since then, majorettes has become a huge part of Amron’s life, with years of training, performances and leadership roles helping shape her growth both on and off the field.
During her time at Gonubie Primary Majorettes, she took on several leadership positions including team captain, baton leader, flag group leader, subbie leader and senior squad leader. She now continues her journey with Blue Fire, another majorettes team based in Gonubie.
For Amron, representing South Africa internationally is something she describes as a dream come true.
“I am truly honoured and excited to have been selected to represent South Africa in Poland.”

She says the journey has not always been easy, but her love for the sport has continued to drive her forward through every challenge.
“Through every challenge I have shown perseverance, hard work and determination. I train with passion, I push through and I never give up.”
While the selection is an exciting achievement, the trip also comes with significant costs for the family. Flights, accommodation, visas, official Protea kit, travel to national practice camps and other tournament expenses are expected to total around R80 000.
The family has launched a crowdfunding campaign in hopes of raising enough support to help make the trip possible.
