Facebook has just changed their Algorithms which means that Good Things Guy news could disappear from your timelines completely. Here’s how to keep up to date with all the good things happening in South Africa and the World!
First off… a MASSIVE thank you for all the support & love you have shown us over the past (almost) 3 years. The journey has been absolutely amazing & we have continued to grow everyday, but only because of you!
They say good news doesn’t sell & we’ve proved them wrong! Whoever they are.
We have managed to build a little business where we are able to research, write & bring you good news from South Africa & the world everyday and that means we are able to produce up to 15 amazing good news stories every single day.
On an average month, we see up to 1,5 million readers… sharing, reading and talking about GOOD NEWS!
We’ve even changed the way mainstream media approach good news stories & have seen a huge rise on good news being shared on much bigger platforms too. The big guys even source back to us often which is just so humbling.
“But we need to ask you a really big favour… obviously only if you still enjoy Good Things Guy & want to keep up to date with all the good things happening.”
We want to continue to grow. We still believe that good news is a good balance to the current noise out there and ultimately we want to change the national conversation. We want every South African whether near or far to be PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN but will need every single one of our followers to help to do that.
The Facebook Algorithms are changing again & page owners (like us) need to find the best way to deliver your up-to-the-minute good news fix without having to break the bank on sponsoring posts while doing it.
At the moment… apparently only 6% of Facebook Page followers actually see the content posted, and apparently this number might decrease to just 1%.
Which means that the Good Things Guy news might disappear from YOUR newsfeeds… completely.
So we’re asking you to do 5 things to help us survive and grow:
1. Physically click the “Follow” option on the Facebook Page & add us to your newsfeed. Even though you may already like the page you need to physically ask to see the content. This will mean all posts will be shown to you. You can choose to see us first in your timeline or even get notified when a new good news article gets published. Remember that we can post up to 15 times a day so please make sure we’re adding value to your notifications & not annoying you ![]()
2. Join our Facebook Group: I Love Good News South Africa. Facebook Groups work differently to pages & this might allow you to see more of the good news more of the time too, we think. This is how it currently works at the moment but we’re not sure exactly what the social media platform will do to groups in the future which brings us to our next point…
3. Join our weekly newsletter by clicking here. We send out a weekly newsletter every Friday featuring all our top stories as well as some good ones you may have missed. It’s a great way to keep up with all the good things as they will be delivered to you once a week.
4. Invite your friends and family to like our page, or group or Twitter or Instagram. This way we can grow together… and hopefully the more people reading good news will create a different conversation around the dinner table or corporate water cooler.
5. Keep sharing, liking & commenting with articles & posts. This will allow for organic viewing. The more you interact with posts, the more people will be able to see the good things.
We cannot thank you enough for helping us become what we are today. What started out as a simple idea to share one good news story a day… has turned into something so much bigger.
Wishing you only good things… always.
