SANParks Honorary Rangers have donated 35 patrol bags to Field Rangers in the Garden Route National Park.
Knysna, South Africa (08 October 2026) – Field Rangers in the Garden Route National Park have 35 new patrol bags, thanks to the SANParks Honorary Rangers from the Knysna Region!
The bags were handed over on Monday, 5 October 2026, to Field Rangers in the Knysna Lakes, Diepwalle and Harkerville sections of the park.

Field Rangers spend many hours on patrol, often in remote and challenging areas. Everything they need has to be carried with them, so a good bag makes a big difference!
SANParks’ Honorary Rangers are a national group of volunteers who give their time and skills to support SA’s conservation work. They help by fundraising, carrying out wildlife projects, spreading environmental education, and providing equipment or resources that parks need.
They aren’t SANParks employees, but they do work closely with SANParks to help protect and improve the country’s national parks.

“The donation also highlights the value of collaboration between SANParks and the SANParks Honorary Rangers in supporting conservation and the people responsible for protecting the park’s natural and cultural heritage. Field Rangers across the park will use the 35 patrol bags, which provide practical equipment to support their day-to-day patrol activities.” shares SANParks.
