Sometimes, making a difference isn’t about changing the world. It’s about making someone feel seen. The Kungwini Welfare Organisation makes this their mission every day, providing care and support to the 160 adults who depend on them.
Zwavelpoort, South Africa (17 September 2026) – Everyone deserves to be seen, to feel valued, and to belong. At Kungwini Welfare Organisation, the staff, carers, and volunteers believe that every person has a story, a purpose, and a place in their community.
Based in Zwavelpoort, Gauteng, Kungwini Welfare Organisation is a non-profit dedicated to uplifting persons with disabilities and helping them live with dignity, joy, and independence.
The cornerstone of Kungwini Welfare’s efforts is the Paul Jungnickel Home, where they provide 24-hour, compassionate medical and residential care for adults living with severe physical and intellectual disabilities.
Beyond residential care, they extend a helping hand to the broader community through an early childhood development centre, community social work, vocational workshops, and local healthcare initiatives, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to holistic community development.
“Every day, we have the privilege of walking alongside people – supporting them, encouraging them and creating opportunities for greater independence, dignity and purpose,” the organisation shared.

The Welfare is currently raising funds for its Christmas Campaign, which aims to raise R150 per resident to ensure its 165 residents receive a special gift this festive season.
“This Christmas, we’re working towards a fundraising target of R24,750 to make the festive season special for our residents at Kungwini Welfare Organisation. Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to reaching our goal and ensuring our residents can share in the joy of Christmas.”
It all forms part of the bigger picture: making sure every person who calls Kungwini home feels truly valued.
